1. What is YANA?
YANA is an acronym for You Are Not Alone which is baked into our philosophy in partnering with you in the fight to beat any mental health issue you may be dealing with. We are a world-class online mental health clinic committed to helping you get convenient, high quality, and affordable treatment to help you feel happier. We offer private consultations with top licensed medical doctors all on your mobile device.
2. Is depression and anxiety treatable?
Yes. Depression, anxiety, and other common mental health issues are highly treatable. Approximately 80% of people that receive treatment feel better. Our medical doctors have a proven track record in treating depression and anxiety and are dedicated to your mental wellness.
3. Are prescription medications safe and effective?
YANA only prescribes non-controlled, non-habit forming medications that do not make people feel “high” or intoxicated. These medications are relatively safe and have been used by millions of people since they were introduced several decades ago. Clinical studies have shown that antidepressants are effective at relieving symptoms of depression by 50% or more. Of course, prescription medication should only be taken under the supervision of a medical doctor and it’s common for your medication or your dosage to be adjusted based on your individual response.
4. How long does it take to receive my prescription?
A diagnosis will most likely be reached on your first consultation with a doctor. If your doctor determines prescription medication is right for you, your medication will be delivered directly to your door 4-6 days after your appointment.
5. Is online care effective?
Numerous research studies have shown that remote care is just as effective as traditional in-person doctor visits. It’s also important to keep in mind that there are no physical examinations or physiological tests to diagnose depression or anxiety and treatment has always relied on conversations between patients and their doctors. Many people prefer consulting a medical doctor from the comfort of their homes because it’s much easier to open up from a safe space in comparison to an unfamiliar doctor’s office.
6. How is YANA so affordable?
Our costs are lower than in-person care because we utilize clinicians that work from home who can afford to charge less because they have zero overhead costs associated with operating their practice. YANA telehealth delivers the same quality of care you'd receive in-office, but without the extra costs because we cut out the middleman to bring gold standard treatments directly to you.
7. Who is YANA for?
YANA is for adults 18 years or older who are looking to increase mental wellness. Our clinicians specialize in treating depression, anxiety, addiction, substance abuse, eating disorders, PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder),Issues stemming from being LGBT, and anger management problems.
8. Who are YANA’s medical doctors?
YANA’s clinician network includes medical doctors that have graduated from top U.S. medical schools and licensed to practice in your state. We put tremendous effort in vetting our network to make sure all of our clinicians are experienced mental health professionals. If you choose to consult with a YANA-affiliated clinician, it’s important that you share any new treatment plans or medications initiated with your primary care physician.
9. When should someone consider medication?
You should consider medication if you feel like your thoughts, patterns, feelings, or reactions are preventing you from living a healthy, happy, and productive life. While it’s tempting to put it off, it’s important not to wait. In most cases, depression, anxiety, and other disorders won’t fade away on their own and the longer you wait, the harder it will be to get them under control. It’s not about knowing you need help, it’s about deciding you might need help.
10. Will I always have the same medical doctor?
Absolutely! At YANA, we believe that continuity of care is necessary to achieve the best outcomes for our clients. We make sure you are always connected to the same medical doctor unless you specifically request a change.
11. How do you protect my privacy?
Your privacy and safety is our first consideration. We utilize 100% HIPAA-compliant, 256-bit SSL security encryption so your data is always kept safe and confidential. Your account is always handled with the utmost discretion and is only accessed by your clinicians and care coordinators.
12. Is YANA covered by insurance?
Currently, YANA only accepts credit cards. Our services are potentially reimbursable so be sure to send our receipts to your insurance carrier. We are also working hard to be able to bill your insurance provider in the near future.
13. Does YANA require a long-term contract?
Absolutely not - YANA does not require any contracts. With that said, change takes time and improving mental health works best when you have a steady plan. Although our plans automatically renew each month, they can be cancelled any time.
